What Did She Cook For Her Family?!
What people are saying about Chinese Food:
“Oh, my gawd! Are those feet?
Pig’s feet? Why would anyone
eat pig feet? Or any kind of
feet?! Wait, what . . . chicken
feet, too?!”
“Oh, my gawd! Is that a nose?
A pig’s nose? Like, one that had
pig snot in it? Why would
anyone eat a nose that had pig
snot in it? Or any kind of
nose?!”
“Yuuuummmm! Pig parts! Can I
have the nose? Hey! Pass the
dumplings.”

Dani has brought her mother’s recipes
and her many other experiences to our
table. Even more importantly, she has
been fiendishly clicking on YouTube
videos for more recipes, tips and ideas
to improve her cooking.
I’d be much more slender and in
better health, no doubt, if I ate only
what she prepared; she uses, as we’d
expect, a lot of vegetables, including
some from our garden.
Her deep-fried Chinese-style
‘donuts’ are very popular, but so are
her breads and dumplings.
Our freezers are full of dumplings
stuffed with beef, Chinese chives,
seafood and of course, pork.
Lots of pork.
