BC Fun
Just outside Hope, there is a park which used to
be a rail line which ran through a series of
tunnels. Remarkably, they are in a straight line,
which was apparently a challenge.
Today, you can walk along the path where the
tracks used to be and enjoy what is a truely
spectacular location.
We visited Whistler for a day, too. I’ve
included a photograph in which YaoYao is
talking to a small group who had approached
her. They were on a scavenger hunt and
needed to find someone who would teach
them how to say “Hello” a language other
than English.
They were very polite; they didn’t just assume
that YaoYao would speak Chinese and
instead asked if she knew any other
languages. Of course, YaoYao went straight
to Mandarin, as they had guessed.
Ironically, YaoYao could have taught them in
French, Italian, or Spanish, too. I think she
should have surprised them.

We took a day to go to Victoria, too.
We went to see the spawning salmon at the
Weaver Creek Spawning Channel, but this
year was a sad experience -- it seems very
few salmon were returning.
